We are looking for a Graduate Packaging Designer to plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution and organisation of the NPD (New Product Development) processes and documentation. This position involves a wide range of responsibilities, from managing comprehensive product documents to supporting the coordination and delivery of samples for customer requests. A key aspect of the role is maintaining high standards of documentation for each product developed, ensuring all visual and written materials are accurate and up-to-date in a timely manner. Additionally, the GPD supports various team functions, including assisting designers with their tasks, coordinating the artwork process for gifting and flowers, and facilitating customer presentations and critical paths. Effective communication and collaboration with team members and external partners are essential to meet deadlines and fulfil customer requirements. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, with a logical and pragmatic mindset who is able to cope in a fast paced and high pressure environment. While the role is focused around administration and coordination, a creative flare and passion for packaging is vital. Core Responsibilities Maintain comprehensive and organised packaging specs for each component, ensuring all customer requirements are met and updated regularly. Assist the NPD Packaging Manager with tasks such as sample preparation and marketing quality mock-ups, maintaining productivity and quality standards. Accurately create artwork and new graphic designs in adherence with customer brand guidelines Photograph each new product/sample and upload the images into the respective documents, ensuring high-quality visuals are available for reference. Own the artwork coordination process. Understand critical path requirements, general print processes and send around artwork for approval both internally and externally where required. Attend pre-print meetings and first print sign offs where applicable, ensuring adherence to customers colour and print guidelines Keep comprehensive and accurate control of the cutter guide library and artwork versions. Ensuring proper version control at all times. Maintain the raw material master sheet, regularly updating Rubicon codes and sourcing information with the support of the Procurement and Technical teams. Complete customer-specific documentation accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all customer requirements are fulfilled. Support the Studio Manager in the ordering of raw materials through various channels where needed Book courier collections and deliveries to and from customers as required, coordinating with the Studio Manager for approval and scheduling. Maintain a comprehensive packaging style guide book that showcases the designs created by the team and external sources of inspiration, ensuring it is up-to-date and visually appealing. Review and label any deviation or notes regarding samples, prior to customer meetings. Set up and dismantle the meeting room for customer presentations, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment. Ensure refreshments are booked for customer meetings. Support the Studio Manager and NPD Managers by ordering development samples as needed, ensuring all required materials are available for ongoing projects. Coordinate the sending of samples for customer Public Relations (PR) requests, including booking transport and preparing samples as required. Assist New Product Development (NPD) Managers with various tasks as needed, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
