Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner - Musculoskeletal Services

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Outpatient Physiotherapy Team.
We are looking for a member of the team to support the one to one and group rehabilitation of patients with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions seen within the Physiotherapy department at Addenbrooke's Hospital. We are a large group of Therapists who treat a range of patients varying from chronic pain to acute trauma and post-surgical.
You will have proven knowledge and skills in exercise therapy, be able to lead our ESCAPE pain programme and 1:1 Hydrotherapy sessions alongside managing a caseload of patients.
Main duties of the job
To assist in Physiotherapy and department related duties as directed by, and under the supervision of, a State Registered Physiotherapist.
Providing a high standard of assistance to Physiotherapy staff in Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Outpatient Services.
Provide individual and group-based exercise interventions for MSK Outpatients, including services such as ESCAPE PAIN, Sports specific lower limb class, upper limb class and hydrotherapy.
To undertake some administrative roles and tasks for the outpatient department.
To participate in the Ward weekend rota.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good general education, to GCSE or equivalent including evidence of literacy and numeracy skills
* Relevant health, sport or exercise degree or qualification (for example Level III Exercise referral, BACR or equivalent)
* Member of the Register of Exercise Professionals
* Evidence of achievement of other relevant training
Experience
* General experience in dealing with members of the public
* Experience of training / supervising others
* Experience as an Exercise Practitioner including screening / assessment and design / delivery of individual and group exercise programmes to patients with existing medical conditions
* Experience of leading group exercise classes
* Physiotherapy Assistant experience in the NHS
* Experience in a healthcare environment
* Experience of assessing and advising on healthy lifestyle issues
Knowledge
* Awareness / knowledge of Allied Health Professional roles such as Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists
* An understanding of commonly encountered medical conditions
* Knowledge of how patients can benefit from exercise
Skills
* Ability to deal with patients unsupervised
* Ability to manage and support more junior staff
* Able to design, implement and modify individual treatment plans autonomously
* Administrative and IT skills
* Self-directed learning
* Ability to manage own caseload
* Applies practical approach to problem solving
