Hays has partnered with a leading manufacturingpany. We are looking for a Payroll Assistant for 3 months, offering hybrid work for 2 days in the office, then 3 days from home. Needing someone who is immediately avilable.
Payroll Assistant Responsibilities
Gathering and Examining Timesheets:
1. Reviewing timesheets to verify their validity and accuracy.
2. Ensuring that employee work hours are correctly recorded.
Entering Start and End Times:
3. Inputting start and end times into the payroll software.
4. Capturing approved annual and sick leave data.
Calculatingpensation:
5. Calculatingpensation for overtime work at the appropriate rate.
6. Ensuring annual leave is accurately calculated, if applicable.
Deductions Processing:
7. Confirming that legally-mandated and optional deductions (such as taxes, insurance, and retirement contributions) have been processed correctly.
8. Paycheck Preparation:
9. Preparing and distributing hard copy or electronic paychecks to employees.
Timely Execution:Performing all tasks well before the pay run to ensure employees arepensated and notified on time.Addressing Queries:
10. Assisting employees with payroll-related inquiries.
11. Resolving discrepancies in payments promptly.
