An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical / Practitioner Psychologist to join our friendly team. The Family Intervention Team is a partnership service delivered by Action for Children and the ABUHB. We work with children aged 3-16 and their families to help them access timely psychological help to meet emerging needs and to prevent the escalation of their difficulties. We are passionate about the talents and capabilities of children and the opportunities of childhood to build a secure foundation and healthy psychological functioning. We believe that children are often best helped in the context of their families and we work closely with many diverse kinds of families in fulfilling their potential.
The post holder would be joining a thriving psychological service which plays a key role in the Family Intervention Team through leading all clinical practice delivered to families. Alongside being a member of the Family Intervention Team, the post holder would also belong to the ABUHB Child Psychology and Therapies Service in which there is a range of excellent services for children, families and fellow professionals. Many of our qualified Practitioner Psychologists are longstanding within the wider service, and together we offer a supportive peer group and share a rich professional culture in which continued professional development is encouraged.
The main duties of the post include providing direct psychological work with children and families, clinical leading and supervising the psychologically informed practice of the Family Support Practitioners at FIT. Also, leading on audit and research projects to gather evidence about the service and our impacts as well as how our service can continually improve. The role involves developing the co-production activities of our service and raising the voice of children and families.
The post is available as a bands 7 - 8A development post or as an 8A post dependent upon experience. The post is offered fixed term until March 2026 due to fixed term funding at present.
