Control Systems Engineer
Responsibilities
* Development of electronic control systems for on car use, HIL simulator, DIL simulator and test facilities.
* Ownership of control systems projects, from specification, through to implementation, testing, delivery, and maintenance.
* Development and management of ECU calibrations, set up and projects
* Development of software/tools for the configuration, calibration, data monitoring/analysis and performance optimisation of the electronic control and data systems.
* Provide development support for the standard ECU software and calibration to achieve optimal car performance.
* Investigate control systems issues using telemetry, HIL and SIL tools and provide feedback on the resolution to the appropriate project owners.
* Development of HIL simulations and associated plant models to provide improved coverage of systems testing and calibration.
* Development of coding standards and systems engineering development methodologies.
* Provide factory, and possibly track, support for race and test events for the operation of the control systems when necessary.
Requirements
* Good degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Electronics, mechanical, automotive, mechatronics).
* Must have solid experience of Mclaren Applied SECU, ATLAS and System Monitor.
* Strong mathematical/analytical skills and control theory knowledge is essential.
* Experience of the modelling/simulation of electronic control systems with mechanical/hydraulic/electrical elements.
* Proven track record of developing real-time control system software using Matlab Simulink/Stateflow/autocoding tools.
* Knowledge of the configuration and operation of high speed data acquisition and analysis systems.
* Data driven approach to problem solving.
* Flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a changing environment.
* Ideally experience with F1 or top-level motorsport control systems.
