Graduate Test Engineer – Camberley Area – £35k per annum
Are you a recent graduate eager to start your career in engineering and systems testing? We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Graduate Test Engineer to join a leading engineering company based in the Camberley area. This permanent role offers a competitive salary of circa £35k and presents a fantastic opportunity to make an impact in a high-tech environment.
The candidate would ideally have experience with lifecycle management software (Jira) and be aware of different testing methods including but not limited to systems testing, functional testing, automated testing and exploratory testing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Evaluate the functionality, performance, and stability of both hardware and software products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality.
* Analyse product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria to develop comprehensive and effective test plans.
* Carry out exploratory tests and assess release candidates to uncover potential issues and ensure product readiness.
* Investigate, document, and track issues to ensure they are efficiently resolved, contributing to continuous improvement of product quality.
* Work closely with hardware, software, and firmware teams, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration across all departments.
* Provide detailed test reports and feedback on usability, performance, and issues to support ongoing product and system enhancements.
* Suggest improvements to processes, workflows, and team productivity, contributing to the overall efficiency of the engineering department.
* Offer technical expertise in supporting customers onshore and offshore, assisting with system installations, training, and product demonstrations.
* Support the organisation and execution of product trials and demonstrations at the company’s test facility.
* Contribute to the planning process by reviewing and estimating the time and cost involved in testing tasks.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
* A degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant field such as Ocean Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or another technical discipline.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
* A self-motivated individual with a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently.
* Highly organised, adaptable, and able to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities.
* A critical thinker with a willingness to challenge existing methods and introduce new ideas.
* A strong understanding of user needs, with a focus on delivering high-quality, user-centred testing processes.
