This job involves working within our recruitment and HR team, working closely with our Safeguarding team, and reporting directly to the Director of HR. You will be jointly responsible for recruitment administration and induction of new staff and must ensure that candidates are recruited under safer recruitment guidelines and all paperwork and records are maintained in a timely manner. Working with your senior colleague, you will be required to screen applicants, run background checks, schedule interviews and eventually complete job offers, including working with HR and payroll to produce contracts. You will also be involved in the running of the week-long Induction programme which all new starters must attend. Therefore, attention to detail and the confidence to deal with internal and external stakeholders of all levels are essential qualities. You will assist the Marketing and Advertising Co-ordinator in finding innovative ways to attract staff and also be expected to attend occasional job fairs.
We are a registered charitable trust comprising a special needs school, college, registered children’s home and adult supported living house. Our school and college students are age 5-19 with moderate to severe and complex social communication and learning disabilities. Every member of our 250 staff plays a part in making a positive contribution to the lives of our students and tenants. Students may visit the office so compassion, patience and empathy for their needs is vital. If you are recruited, you will be required to complete Team Teach positive behaviour support training as part of your induction before employment.
This is a 52-week post and working during the school holiday periods is required. This is an on-site role, which will commence as soon as possible after interview, subject to completion of pre-start compliance checks.
Hours of work, 8.30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday (with ½ hour unpaid break each day). 25 days holiday plus public holidays paid.
We operate a flexible working policy so there may be opportunity for some variation, for the right candidate. Own transport is desirable due to the rural location of the Trust however, we are very close to the village centre and a 25 min walk from bus stops providing buses from Horsham, Godalming and Guildford.
