An award-winning distributor supplying B2C customers in over 100 countries, with a strong reputation for customer service and the ability to supply quickly, is seeking a Procurement Manager.
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's procurement processes. This will include sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of parts and services to meet the company's operational needs.
Key Responsibilities of the Procurement Manager
1. Source by identifying, evaluating, and selecting suitable European suppliers within the automotive industry.
2. Negotiate terms with suppliers, costs, and contracts, putting in place SLA's.
3. Source goods quickly to fulfill large or high-value orders at the best pricing.
4. Work with the warehouse in North UK and across Europe, including third-party warehousing, to manage stock levels, preventing overstocking and shortages.
5. Build and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships, revising and monitoring SLA's and providing feedback.
6. Keep abreast of market trends, supplier developments, and pricing fluctuations, including foreign exchange rates, to make informed procurement decisions.
7. Prepare regular reports on procurement activities and set performance benchmarks.
Experience required for the Procurement Manager
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement or buying role, ideally in product distribution businesses serving B2C customers.
2. Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
3. High level of computer proficiency.
4. Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
5. Knowledge of procurement best practices.
