We are now looking for an experienced Purchasing Specialist to join the team in Melton. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a global company with development opportunities.
Job Summary
* Facilitate the purchase of equipment, materials, and services, utilizing established purchasing guidelines.
* Evaluate factors to determine overall cost effectiveness in decision making.
* Administer and adhere to company purchasing policies and standard operating procedures.
* Maximise the use of lean process through established MRP Practices.
Responsibilities:
* Arrange the purchase and delivery of equipment, materials and services as identified by approved purchase requisitions.
* Create purchase orders for Suppliers, follow-up, and expedite as needed.
* Work with Sourcing Managers and Operations to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods.
* Assist Sourcing Managers and Head of Procurement with identification of contract opportunities for relevant demands.
* Control costs through economies of scale, and innovative purchasing techniques.
* Administer SAP contracts for required materials and services.
* Assist vendors and/or employees with problems related to purchasing.
* Complete vendor evaluations, assessing performance relative to company needs.
* Review invoices for correctness based on the purchase order: items ordered, terms and conditions. Resolve discrepancies. Work with Department Heads to ensure timely invoice approval and payment.
* Provide SAP support to all requesters, in the area/s within scope of responsibility.
* Troubleshoot and resolve problems relating to purchasing, delivery dates and all other vendor matters.
* Train personnel as necessary on program and systems. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
* SAP Materials Management Experience
* Skilled in Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
* Maintain safe working conditions and practices to achieve a zero (0) lost time injury record within the area of responsibility.
* Perform work duties in accordance with Quality System Manual procedures & company policy.
* Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Experience:
* Purchasing: 5 years (preferred)
* SAP Materials Management: 3 years (preferred)
* Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
* Driving Licence (preferred)
