Area General Manager
Location: London - On Site
Salary: £90k plus package
Resourcing Group has an exciting opportunity to join a leading FM & Real Estate company. My client is looking for an AGM to join the team located in London.
Job Overview
Providing leadership, management, and development of a defined contract, ensuring financial and operational commitments are met and exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership, ensuring that contractual commitments are met and exceeded.
2. Exploit opportunities for the strategic development of the contract to deliver increased turnover and profitability, ensuring additional services and projects are added, and contracts are re-won on re-tender.
3. Effectively communicate and implement business policies and processes within the contract.
4. Ensure the provision of healthy and safe working conditions, implementing health and safety policies effectively across the company and sub-contractors, with regular reviews.
5. Optimize staffing structures across contracts, balancing cost reduction with service excellence, and support disaster recovery.
6. Ensure contracts are staffed by fully competent teams, with effective succession planning arrangements in place.
7. Collaborate with other Operational managers for the development of the business and support to colleagues.
8. Develop contract financial plans for revenue and profit delivery, reduction of WIP, debt, cost reduction, and contract growth, ensuring these are met and exceeded.
9. Implement appropriate control systems to meet statutory, policy, and contractual commitments.
10. Maintain a customer focus within all operational activities and build effective relationships with key client contacts.
11. Promote and maintain the core Values of the business.
12. Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and direct support for best practice selection, training, assessment, and recognition/reward.
13. Deliver effective business communication through various channels, including management meetings, briefings, and reports.
14. Support the sales process through solutions development, participation in presentations, and hosting visits as required on new contracts.
15. Provide a learning environment with appropriate training and development planning, ensuring employees are competent and can reach their full potential.
Accountabilities
1. Reporting to a Business Unit Director.
2. Accountable to the businesses' functional heads as appropriate.
3. Accountable day-to-day to the relevant client contacts.
4. Line management responsibility for a contract team and indirectly for relevant sub-contractors.
5. Financial responsibility for the delivery of Plan commitments for the contract.
Education
An engineering qualification is essential, preferably HND or above.
Training
Incumbents must be able to demonstrate a career showing continuous personal development.
Experience
[Desirable] Delivery of wider facilities management services and effective people management practices.
Circumstances
Incumbents will be required to travel occasionally to support operational delivery and participate in training and business reviews. Some overnight stays may be needed.
