At the present time, the 21st Century Cyber Charter School has one full time position available for Teaching Assistant.

LOCATION:
The incumbent in this position will report to and work out of our main school campus location - West Chester (Eastern PA)
* Our main campus location is located in West Chester: "An active university town, nestled in the heart of the Brandywine Valley just 30 minutes from Wilmington and 45 minutes from Center City Philadelphia, downtown West Chester Pennsylvania reflects the small-town charm and cosmopolitan tastes that prompted The Philadelphia Inquirer to call West Chester “one of the world’s most perfect small towns.”
* Our second campus is located in Murrysville: "A short drive from Pittsburgh, explore the city, discover what the area has to offer and experience the award-winning food scene, countless family activities, and so much more."
* After 90 days of employment, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work from home for up to 2 days per week. This work-from-home option allows for increased flexibility and work-life balance.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Teaching Assistant assists educators in the educational process including communicating with students and their families to ensure that students are successful in the online environment. The Teaching Assistant will also support instruction in clerical duties.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Student Tracking & Communication
o Assists teachers with:
o Student and parent communications
o Communicating student progress with students and parents
o Encouraging student participation and organization
* Assist students in finding answers using best available resources.
* Assist students and families through the orientation process.
* Work within our curriculum delivery system to help identify and track student participation.
* Review documents for authenticity and completeness.
* Handle telephone calls promptly and with courtesy.
* Confer regularly with staff to plan and coordinate activities.
* Explain, interpret, and enforce a wide range of academic policies and regulations related to public schools.
* Data Integrity
o Document phone communication accurately to reflect conversations.
o Work with other owners of data to ensure complete records.
o Assist in the collection for our data based decision-making process.
* Administrative Duties
o Follow up on attendance issues including but not limited to letters, calls, and database tracking.
o Assist with office duties as needed, this will include but is not limited to mailings, and phone & electronic communication.
o Screen and prioritize routine correspondence. Take initiative when appropriate.
o Perform other projects as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS:
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Knowledge of student information system (SIS).
* Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
* Ability to use independent judgment to manage confidential information.
* Knowledge of the rules, regulations, and laws regarding student records.
* Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
* Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
* Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
* Ability to analyze and solve problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree desirable
* High school diploma required.
* Experience working with regular office computer software to include MS Office, FileMaker (or Student Information System), Google Apps, or similar
* Some experience in a K-12 school desirable
Professional or Other Certifications
* Valid PA Teaching Certification desirable (Core content areas – English, Math, Science, Social Studies)
* Special Education certificate desirable
* 1:1 aide experience desirable
* Required - Act 34 and 151 Clearances and Federal Criminal History Information (CHRI), valid within the year at time of hire.
* Required - TB test valid within the year at time of hire
* Valid, state-issued drivers license.
Schedule:
10 Month/195 Day
Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm

Salary:
$29,690 - $33,428 (annual)
