Adecco are currently recruiting for an Evidential Property Unit Courier to work for Gwent Police. This role will be working out of Mamhilad near Pontypool. This is a temporary part-time position working Mon, Tues, Friday 22.5 hours a week. To be responsible for the safe and secure transport of Evidential Property which includes general property, Documents, Firearms, Forensic Samples, drugs and cash from Interim Stores to the main Evidential Property Unit (EPU) and vice versa. To distribute consumables and complete regular checks of interim stores, reporting any issues/requests for stock to the Logistics Officer. To transport Items for Central Disposal to external customers e.g. Scrap and delivery of eBay items to Sussex Police PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES To secure items for transportation and using the facilities provided within the stores vehicle so that items are transported in a safe and secure manner and to ensure that vehicle security is maintained at all times. To undertake the delivery and collection of evidential property to and from the EPU and Interim Stores as directed by the EPU Logistics Officer and prepared by the EPU Stores Assistant. To collect Force Post from the HQ post room and deliver to stations throughout the Force area. It will be the responsibility of the Courier to load the evidential property into the Force Courier Van for secure transportation. 3 Items may include general property, drugs, of various classes and firearms/ammunition which have been made safe by an Authorised Firearms Officer (AFO) and ensuring all these items are packaged correctly in line with Force Packaging Standards. To distribute consumables and complete regular checks of interim stores, reporting any issues/requests for stock to the Logistics Officer. To undertake the delivery and collection of evidential property to and from external customers as directed by the EPU Logistics Officer and prepared by the EPU Stores Assistant. It will be the responsibility of the Courier to load the items into the Force Courier Van for secure transportation. Items may include general property, drugs, of various classes and firearms/ammunition which have been made safe by an Authorised Firearms Officer (AFO) and forensic exhibits. To drive the stores delivery vehicles and to move items between locations as directed by the EPU Logistics Officer including travel in and out of force areaKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Minimum of five grade A-C GCSE's or the equivalent minimum standards or possess relevant experience. Must be able to demonstrate previous experience of working within a driving related role. Must have good experience and proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to quickly gain an understanding of bespoke IT systems. Knowledge and skills Application / Interview Word Count (500) Level 2 Welsh essential (training will be provided), Level 3 and above desirable. Must possess a Full UK Driving License to include light goods vehicles (C1) A good knowledge of the Force Geographical area is desirable. Knowledge of Force Packaging Standards is desirable. Must have good communication skills in order to present information to staff, officers and external customers both verbally and in writing.
