The Creative Industries department at Brighton MET has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Technician in Media, Film and Broadcast to join our brilliant team.
The role is to support teaching and learning in our fantastic Film and Media department and is a great opportunity for a film or media practitioner to join Brighton MET at an exciting time in this industry.
As our Specialist Technician, you will be part of our hardworking creative technician team and be supported by the Senior Technician for Creative Industries. You will have a strong working knowledge of film and creative media and ideally a degree in film or a related subject.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting students at our regular live broadcasts from Brighton Dome, typically in the evenings.
2. Assisting students with their learning and projects.
3. Giving demonstrations in the mac labs, podcast suite, or film studios when required.
4. Ensuring all film and media equipment is serviced and ready for lessons and loans.
5. Ensuring student safety in the studios and the safe operation of all equipment in specialist studios and work areas.
6. Managing the loan of specialist equipment, including booking out equipment to staff and students and ensuring its safe return.
7. Regular servicing and maintenance of equipment, as well as purchasing consumables and equipment.
8. Participating in the set-up of our renowned End of Year show every June.
