Excell Supply are seeking a dedicated and experienced PMLD Teacher to teach in a large SEN School in Wrexham. The successful candidate will provide outstanding teaching and learning opportunities for students with profound and multiple learning difficulties. This role requires a compassionate, patient, and innovative professional committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of students with complex needs. Key Responsibilities: Planning and Delivery of Lessons: Develop and implement personalized, engaging, and adaptive lesson plans tailored to meet the individual needs of students with PMLD. Utilize a range of teaching strategies, resources, and assistive technologies to support sensory, cognitive, and physical development. Student Support: Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to ensure maximum participation and achievement. Support students in developing essential communication, social, and life skills. Collaboration: Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to provide holistic support for students. Engage with parents and caregivers to ensure they are informed and involved in their childs educational journey. Contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings, including EHCP reviews, providing detailed reports and recommendations. Classroom Management: Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring that all students feel valued and supported. Address challenging behaviours with patience and consistent strategies, promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being. Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest research, policies, and best practices in PMLD education. Participate in professional training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Teacher registration with the EWC Proven experience working with students with PMLD in a school or similar setting. Skills and Attributes: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families. Strong organizational and planning abilities. Resilience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education. Desirable: Additional qualifications in special education or related fields. Experience in delivering physiotherapy or occupational therapy programs within an educational context.
