JOB DESCRIPTION
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 12-year-old boy living in the Aberdare area. I have a cheeky personality and can sometimes be mischievous. I am nonverbal but have ways of communicating. I am very loving towards my family and lately have been wanting to engage more. I do not like noisy environments, so I wear ear defenders most of the time. I really like going to the park and going swimming; water helps calm me down. My main disability is ASD, which means I have no awareness of danger whatsoever, and you will have to keep an eye on me at all times.
PURPOSE OF JOB
I require 2:1 support to access social opportunities in the community, which means I require 2 PAs.
HOURS OF WORK
1. 3 hours a week
2. After school hours in term time and during school holidays
3. Weekend shifts on occasion
RATES OF PAY
£13.00 per hour
Mileage of 40p per mile
TASKS INVOLVED
1. Personal care and toileting needs
2. Dressing, undressing
3. Social outings
4. Community activities
5. Ensuring I am safe at all times
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
1. Someone with experience of autism is essential
2. You must be reliable, caring, and friendly
3. Understanding of my sound sensitivity
4. Respect for confidentiality and working in the home
5. Car driver with access to a car
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly and appropriate holiday pay given.
The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the Local Authority.
The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
