Job Title: IT Infrastructure Engineer
Experience- 5+ years
Location- Eastleigh, UK
Salary- up to £48,000 per annum
Work Mode- Hybrid (Min 3 days per week)
Working hours- 37 hours per week

Position Overview:
Purpose of job-
Managing the installation, monitoring, maintenance and support of all IT hardware, software and communications systems within agreed change of control procedures.
Managing and delivering cost/risk technical projects, upgrades and implementations and provide final escalation technical support to the Group’s business users and IT systems.
Ownership and proactive management of the infrastructure teams operational support queue.
Requirements
Key duties and responsibilities-
· Proactively oversee and safeguard the IT Infrastructure and ensure it is maintained in line with industry best practice to ensure that maximum use can be made of the resources always.
· Implement, develop and maintain the reliability, availability, scalability and performance of IT Infrastructure through a program of agreed works, ensuring downtime is minimised for customers across all directorates and system up-time is within prescribed SLAs.
· Apply best practice for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT Infrastructure.
· Maintain a constant oversight of the existing IT Infrastructure and make suggestions for improvement and growth.
· Ensure that the Group’s systems, IT Infrastructure and data are secure and protected in line with best practice (cyber security awareness and expertise).
· Manage technology projects and provide technical resource for high level/risk projects. Act as a technical expert in other non-Infrastructure specific projects.
· Manage and be accountable for specifically assigned projects and complex technical tasks and the impact they have. Ensure all work is delivered to specification.
· Management and administration of physical and virtual IT infrastructure, including but not limited to servers, desktops, hypervisors, SANs, routers, switches, UPS, LANs, WANs and wireless networks.
· Manage Azure cloud estate, including AVD and ASR and contribute to the testing of the IT requirements of the Group’s business continuity plan.
· Analyse and resolve network, hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate manner and provide end user training where required. Using demonstrable expertise to establish root cause and resolve within timescales and apply remediation to prevent recurrence.
· Support the IT Service Desk by acting as a final escalation point and internal expert on anything Infrastructure related
· Adhere to change management processes to ensure all changes are logged and managed appropriately.
· Monitor the usage of the corporate network to ensure compliance with IT security policies, strategies and best practice.
· Liaise with external consultants and service providers to facilitate the provision of IT related systems, which meet the needs of the Group.
· Create and maintain documentation as it relates to server and network configuration, mapping, processes and service records.
· Deputise for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer for high level technical requirements and escalations in their absence.
· All other duties commensurate to the role.
Knowledge, skills and experience
· Significant and demonstrable experience in a technical role providing third line support.
· A technical qualification such as a Cisco, VMware or Microsoft certification
· An understanding of ITIL with accreditation at Foundation Level
· Solid understanding of key technologies used by including Microsoft Windows, Office365, Azure, VMWare, NetApp filers, VoIP, Blade enclosures, Cisco networking and AVD

· Full clean driving license and/or ability to travel in a timely and efficient manner to visit other locations and attend meetings, frequently located in areas not covered by public transport.
