We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to lead on delivery of high-value, high profile projects and initiatives within the Environment Service, ensuring they advocate sustainable practices and enhance community involvement. This crucial role involves overseeing strategic project management of key initiatives such as the Local Nature Recovery Strategy and contributing to the development of commercial opportunities across the Natural Norfolk team. You will lead and manage a team dedicated to delivering a portfolio of projects and initiatives, focusing on sustainable, nature-based solutions and robust stakeholder engagement that align with the Council's Environmental Policy priorities.
You will be an experienced project manager, ideally with experience of developing innovative commercial opportunities in the public sector. Applicants should have a proven track record in managing environmental or community projects and developing effective engagement strategies. Ideal candidates will possess exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to think strategically and engage stakeholders effectively.
In this role, you will lead and innovate, ensuring effective, high-standard delivery and enjoy a fast-paced, collaborative team environment and strategic problem-solving. You will lead a team of 6 people and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, external contractors, and stakeholders to explore new opportunities that align with environmental and community interests. Your advocacy for green initiatives and strong project management skills will help steer high-quality projects/initiatives and support team members in achieving shared goals.
Key focus areas:
* Oversee daily operations and strategic direction of projects, including the Defra funded Local Nature Recovery Strategy, ensuring alignment with partner and stakeholder expectations.
* Collaborate closely with senior officers and partners to engage stakeholders and deliver effective project outcomes.
* Provide the bridge between environmental strategy, service delivery, and communities.
* Coordinate resource management and foster strong partnerships across sectors to enhance project delivery and stakeholder relationships.
* Contribute insight around the development of innovative commercial opportunities.
* Support capacity building within the team and contribute to the development of strategic engagement and communication plans for the Environment Service.
