We have an exciting part-time opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join the Outpatients Department at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.
The post holder will provide essential clinical and administrative support to the Registered Nurses (RNs) within the Outpatients Department, helping to provide a high level of care to patients. You will manage a group of patients on their journey through the consultations, any relevant diagnostics and will give information as and when deemed necessary.
The post holder must be able to effectively manage their own workload when caring for a group of patients under the supervision of a RN.
Successful applicants must be able to provide their Maths and English GCSE certificates (grade C or above or equivalent). Otherwise, you will be asked to sit an online literacy and numeracy assessment.

• Provide support to patients to maintain their hygiene needs.
• Provide support to maintain their elimination needs.
• Assist in the delivery of pressure area care.
• Assist in the maintenance of patients nutritional and hydration needs.
• Accurately undertake and record patient observations (at a frequency determined by the Registered nurses), reporting any abnormalities immediately to a registered nurse.
• Escort patients to and from other wards and departments under the direct instruction of the Registered nurses.
• To move patients safely using techniques taught by the Manual Handling Team, including the safe use of mechanical and non-mechanical manual handling aids.
• To provide clinical administrative support to Registered nurses.
The successful candidate will be working in the various clinics in the Outpatients Department alongside Staff Nurses, Consultants, Doctors and Specialist Nurses within the multi-disciplinary team.
