This position will support federal project work for clients that require U.S. Citizenship.
As a Lead Professional Electrical Engineer (Power Systems Analysis), you will:
1. Be responsible for the supervision, guidance, and review of power system analysis tasks and projects conducted by the members of CDM Smith’s electrical practice.
2. Serve as CDM Smith's power system analysis technical expert in highly technical electrical matters, assisting in design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
3. Act as a liaison with individuals and units within and outside of CDM Smith on technical matters related to electrical design and power system analysis.
4. Work independently as the electrical lead or project manager on multiple tasks and projects.
5. Provide support to business development activities of a highly technical electrical nature.
6. Operate as a technical and professional leader and mentor for lower-level employees.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline.
2. Professional engineering (PE) license.
3. 12 years of related experience.
4. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
5. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience with power systems for water, wastewater, industrial, federal, and transit facilities.
2. Familiarity with industry and federal codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, NESC, IEEE, UFC, etc.).
3. Published in IEEE Journals or Transactions, or other technical journals is a plus.
4. Proficiency in power system planning and expertise in distributed generation, alternative energy, and microgrid systems.
5. Proficiency with designing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving for medium voltage distribution systems including substations, switchgear, and standby generation systems.
6. Proficient with SKM Power*Tools and ETAP, as well as other electrical system analysis software (Easypower, EDSA/Paladin, Cyme, or Milsoft).

Skills and Abilities:
1. Advanced knowledge of computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
2. Strong knowledge of engineering principles of design.
3. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
4. Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
5. Possesses excellent attention to detail.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Pay Range Minimum: $119,829
Pay Range Maximum: $209,726
Additional Compensation: All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
Work Location Options: Hybrid Work Options may be considered for successful candidate.
