Job Title Head of Risk UK What does a great Risk & Controls Officer do? Fiserv operates a three lines of defence model, widely adopted in the financial industry. The position is within the second line of defence and responsible for the deployment of Fiserv’s Enterprise Risk Management framework, risk culture and control environment for the UK business. The Risk & Control Officer (Risk Officer) will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of Risk, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The Risk Officer plays a crucial role in developing and implementing risk management frameworks, policies, and strategies to safeguard the company’s assets, reputation, and stakeholders’ interests. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across all business functions including activity that poses potential for significant reputational and/or regulatory injury.May work on highly complex issues and high-profile clients with a high breadth of responsibility when dealing with business programs and processes. The individual will lead and perform risk management activities that support Fiserv’s ability to build value for investors, serve the needs of our clients and owner-associates, and meet regulatory obligations and standards. Maintain comprehensive governance and working partnership with business colleagues and clients to fulfil oversight and risk management responsibilities. What you will do: Reporting lines: Reporting to the EMEA Head of Enterprise Risk & Controls, the role will be hands-on, highly engaged and involved in virtually all aspects of risk management within the Fiserv UK business and potentially more broadly across the European region. Maintain a strong working partnership with all business partners as the risk management subject matter expert; and point of escalation for risks impacting business objectives Risk Governance and Strategy: Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s risk management framework and policies in alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives. Establish risk appetite and tolerance levels in collaboration with the Board and executive leadership. Provide strategic risk guidance to senior management and where required the Board to support decision making. Regulatory Compliance and Reporting: Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and adherence to Risk requirements. Prepare and present risk reports to the Board, regulators, and other key stakeholders as required. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM): Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, market, credit, liquidity, and reputational risks. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential negative impacts. Foster a strong risk culture across the organization by promoting risk awareness and best practices. Operational Risk Management: Monitor operational risks related to business processes, technology, and internal controls. Establish business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure resilience. Lead risk assessment initiatives, including stress testing and scenario analysis. Financial and Credit Risk Oversight: Oversee credit risk management policies and procedures, ensuring sound credit decision making processes. Monitor liquidity, capital adequacy, and market risk exposures. Ensure effective risk-adjusted performance measures are in place. Leadership and Team Management: Foster an environment of Risk and Control management across the business Develop and implement risk training programs where required for employees at all levels. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate risk management into business processes, as well as delivering and/or effectively supporting risk goals and strategies Fosters a common vision and provides clear direction and common priorities May represent Fiserv at industry events, projecting subject matter expertise covering all aspects of payments and influencing others to bring positive change in line with Fiserv and client best interests Develop, maintain, and manage critical business communications outlining complex changes and strategies What you will need to have Previous risk management experience in a financial institution or payments processor Risk management certification / qualification preferable Must be eligible to hold Senior Management Function responsibilities What would be great to have: Previous relevant experience of payments, merchant acquiring, card issuing services, and new payment methods preferred.
