About the role
Are you working or teaching in the field of engineering, design and/or manufacturing? Would you be interested in a rewarding role which supports the development of the future engineering workforce? We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who would relish the opportunity to share their knowledge, skills and industry experience to teach, support and develop our next generation of engineers.
This is a great opportunity to inspire our future engineers, teaching across a range of vocational engineering & manufacturing programmes and Apprenticeship Standards. Predominantly our Level 3 programmes such as our BTEC Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and our T Level Engineering Manufacturing Design and Development. The successful candidate would need engineering & manufacturing/design technology experience to deliver a range of topics from engineering materials and processes to engineering design, as well as project-based teaching, supporting students to develop skills to create successful prototypes and solutions. General workshop skills are an advantage; any experience with Computer Numerical Control & Manufacture (Lathe & Mill), 2D / 3D CAD (e.g. AutoCAD, Solidworks), 3D printing/additive manufacture would be of benefit, but not essential.
About the person
You may be an experienced FE trainer/tutor, or a newly qualified tutor/teacher; however, we would encourage applications from those working in design, manufacturing and/or engineering industry. Experience of leading projects/programmes would also be of benefit.
You should have a minimum of HND in a relevant Engineering discipline, or/and relevant industry standard qualifications and experience. You will ideally possess a recognised teaching qualification and assessor/IQA awards, or be willing to work towards these with funding support from the College. Recent experience within a manufacturing / engineering industry would be a significant advantage.
