Job purpose: The Home Care Support Worker provides person centred support based on individual outcomes with individuals in their own homes in line with agreed policies and procedures of Age UK Doncaster, in a manner which at all times promotes the privacy, dignity and independence of individuals and their carers. The Home Care Support Worker also works across similar services as required. Duties: A Home Care Support Worker means many things to individuals and you will establish a vital trusted, professional relationship with people you support. The following lists practical duties which serve to indicate the range of tasks expected Personal Care Tasks: Supporting individuals to get up/go to bed Supporting individuals to dress/undress or change clothes Supporting individuals with washing, bathing or showering Supporting individuals with continence needs including the emptying of catheter bags and commodes Supporting individuals with oral hygiene Supporting individuals with washing and brushing their hair Supporting individuals to shave Supporting individuals to take their medication appropriately Domestic Tasks: Supporting individuals with preparing and cooking meals Supporting individuals with making drinks Supporting individuals with washing up Supporting individuals with making/changing beds Supporting individuals with laundry requirements Supporting individuals with shopping General tasks: Ensuring individuals wellbeing and reporting any concerns or changes in individuals health or circumstances to your line manager Complete accurate and comprehensive service delivery records within the individuals home Participate in regular supervision sessions, team meetings and annual reviews with your line manager Participate in all training as required for your professional development Any other reasonable duties that may be required in line with the job purpose. Hours of work : Minimum 16 hours per week guaranteed. Full or part time hours subject to agreement. The service operates between 6am to 11pm, 365 days a year. The post includes working a regular fortnightly working pattern and includes alternate weekends Rate of pay: £10.12 per hour plus paid travelling time at £10.12 per hour plus enhancements for bank holiday and weekend working.
