Your Role and Responsibilities:
As an EC&I Engineer, you will:
1. Deliver technical solutions that meet client requirements in EC&I engineering, adhering to relevant standards and regulations.
2. Support technical solutions at design reviews, considering environmental impact throughout the design process.
3. Supervise junior engineers, graduates, or draughtsmen on low complexity work packages.
4. Recognise the limits of your technical understanding and seek direction when necessary.
5. Identify, assess, and mitigate design risks throughout the design/product lifecycle.
6. Support technical design proposals as part of the tendering process.
7. Maintain commercial and project awareness, accurately estimating time to complete tasks.
8. Understand and implement change control for scope changes.
Skills and Experience Required:
Essential:
1. Knowledge of engineering fundamentals for Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation, Safety systems.
2. Experience with plant and documentation configuration management.
3. Understanding of BS7671 and low voltage directive.
4. Proficiency with CAE tools used in the EC&I design process.
5. Competence in a wide range of computer packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Database, Outlook, and Project.
6. Completion of a relevant and recognised Industry apprenticeship or Graduate Trainee scheme.
7. Experience delivering optioneering studies through to detailed design packages for clients within highly regulated industries.
Desirable:
1. Basic experience and understanding of delegation, motivation, effective communication, and teamwork.
2. Ability to work and manage within virtual teams.
3. Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks, or SEE Electrical.
4. Some understanding of Functional Safety (BS EN 61508, BS EN 61511).
5. Nuclear industry experience.
Qualifications:
Essential:
1. A degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering) or HNC/HND with substantial relevant professional experience.
Desirable:
1. Professional Registration and Institute Membership.
2. Membership of a relevant professional institution (typically IET) or in the process of applying for membership.
