As a Product and Proposition Manager, you will be responsible for improving customer experience with products, managing payment-related incidents, and reporting to senior stakeholders. This role will be split into two teams: international and domestic payments, and you will be allocated to one of them.
The Domestic Payments Team is transforming payments for customers across BUK through an extensive digital journey improvement programme, upgrades to our core payments systems infrastructure, and new propositions that will make customers’ interactions with Barclays easier, improve resilience, and reduce fraud. You will need to demonstrate strong analytical thinking, experience in managing a product lifecycle/risk management, and a desire to help us deliver great digital customer experiences.
The International Team will lead the design, build, and run of International and High Value payment journeys. The team is currently focused on rebuilding International Payment Journeys to significantly uplift the client experience, enabling High Value Payments up to £1m digitally, and BUK's lead on payment infrastructure upgrade. We are looking for individuals who have the ambition and desire to help us build seamless digital-first journeys. Key skills include analytical thinking and product management.
To be successful as a Product and Proposition Manager, you should have experience with:
* Using data to make decisions and recommendations.
* Understanding and experience in product management and/or payments.
* Demonstrable experience of working with and managing a broad range of stakeholders in a matrix environment.
* Strong understanding of customer journey management and improvement.
* Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.

This role will be based in London (Canary Wharf), Glasgow, Knutsford, Manchester, or Northampton.
Purpose of the Role
To manage and develop existing and new products and/or services; and where applicable, ownership of related customer and colleague journeys, develop the product strategy, drive change through Barclays execution teams, make key decisions in the product lifecycle, and own associated outcomes for customers, colleagues, and the bank, achieved through appropriate service level agreements, regulatory compliance, risk management, and controls.
Accountabilities
* Development of customer-level strategies & solutions that are tailored to customers’ needs.
* Subject Matter Expert in the applicable Product/Proposition team and able to confidently guide and advise stakeholders at all levels in the Bank on the application of existing and new products/propositions and related customer and colleague journeys.
* Development of product propositions and/or service strategy, defining the priorities for delivering the outcomes needed to deliver the strategy and lead execution of the priorities.
* Development of different commercial and business models through a strong understanding of the financial drivers of the P&L for the relevant segment/proposition/journey.
* Evaluation of the technical feasibility, legal compliance, and potential risks associated with the development and launch of the new product.
* Monitoring of market trends and analysis feedback from internal employees and target customers through prototypes, user testing sessions, and beta programs to identify areas for improvement to refine the product/process before launch.
* Management of comprehensive launch plans and technical deployments for products that establish rollout timelines, marketing strategies, training initiatives, and communication channels to promote the launch of new products effectively.
* Monitoring of key metrics such as adoption rates, usage patterns, customer satisfaction (including complaints), and revenue generation to assess the product's performance against set goals.
