Let us introduce the role
We have an opportunity available for a Head of Work Places, working in AWE’s People & Places function.
The role will be to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive locations strategy that aligns with AWE’s overall business goals, including expansion, consolidation and/or optimisation of existing work places.
This is a highly collaborative role, working with senior leaders and a range of business stakeholders to identify location requirements, solutions and frameworks to implement this.
Some of the Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive locations strategy which meets AWE’s strategic priorities and goals; aligns with our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategy; Employee Experience strategy; and ensures a consistent culture and approach for our employees.
2. Collaborate with senior leaders to forecast location needs based on strategic workforce plans including employee growth and location projections and talent sourcing strategies.
3. Put our employees at the heart of the design by listening to their needs and wants and creating great experiences, this may include engagement with our recognised trade unions.
4. Ensure location solutions support our sustainability ambitions, considering commuter options and creating positive experiences for external stakeholders, including visitors to our facilities and local communities.
5. Adhere to all necessary security/legal obligations.
6. Ensure decision making is data-led, including conducting market analysis to identify opportunities for new locations, considering factors such as demographics, competition, and economic trends.
7. Develop a robust framework to enact and implement any location changes including business readiness and transition of work places and employees.
8. In partnership with Estates & Liabilities, ensure appropriate site selection, acquisition, lease negotiation, and renewal processes for all locations.
9. Work in collaboration with marketing and brand colleagues to bring to life AWE’s visual identity, ensuring a cohesive look and feel across all our locations.
Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we’d like you to have experience in some of the following:
1. Knowledge of the regulatory bodies that deal with AWE.
2. A relevant degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
3. Experience developing a workplace strategy which includes employee experience.
4. Experience implementing workplace changes which required employee consultation.
5. Evidence of excellent stakeholder management skills including very senior internal and external stakeholders.
6. Evidence of creating a workplace solution which met multiple organisational requirements (legal/regulatory, brand, multi-disciplinary work environments, diverse employee needs etc).
7. Experience creating multi-channel communication plans.
8. Knowledge and understanding of best practice in facilities management and the risks associated with employer workplaces.
