Would you like to earn a salary whilst learning on the job and gaining a qualification? We have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Apprentice at Faversham Council to work alongside the Facilities Manager. You will assist with property maintenance, public realm and open green spaces.
Annual wage: £20,800 a year
Rising to £12.60 after satisfactory completion of 6 months, or sooner in exceptional cases.
Training course: Property maintenance operative
Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. Flexibility required to assist at events on some weekends, where time off in lieu (TOIL) will be provided.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Your duties will include:
* General property maintenance - which could include painting, basic plumbing and electrical work (including PAT testing), legionella testing, fire alarm testing, emergency lights.
* Public realm work including carpentry such as installation of benches, noticeboards and general repairs to benches, bridges, fencing.
* Open green spaces - work to allotments, upkeep of planters.
* Assisting at events including setting up gazebos, running electrical cables and marshalling.

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
