We are seeking an experienced and dedicated peer support coordinator to lead our Ruby Boots Service which supports children and young people transitioning from forces to civilian life.
Working face to face with children and young people, adult volunteers, and key partners you will coproduce effective peer support services in the Fife and Edinburgh areas.
You will recruit, train, and develop the skills of young people who have already transitioned to civilian life to support their peers in their journey.
Partnership work with schools, community services, and the military sector is key to this project’s delivery of an effective service.
About the person we’re looking for:
* Professional graduate level qualification and/or equivalent experience working in a relevant field e.g., health, education, social care, community education, etc.
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in youth work, community work or education.
* Experience of working directly with volunteers and vulnerable children and young people.
* Experience of successfully mobilising new projects.

The Role:
Working alongside the Field Manager you will oversee all our various programmes and work in the office to support the running of the Charity.
You will have experience of project management and lead facilitation with vulnerable young people, staff, and volunteers in the outdoor environment. You will be involved in practical outdoor project delivery at Threipmuir Farm Steading and in the community. The role will also require good knowledge of relevant policies and procedures relating to working with vulnerable young people, communicating with clients and partner organisations, and updating social media.
Practical rural and horticulture skills would be an asset, as would previous experience of charity funding and grant applications.
You can have a mix of hybrid working from our office base in Balerno and from your home. As Balerno and our steading base are located rurally, you will need a full UK driving licence and access to a car.

We have a vacancy for a GIRFEC Support Worker to provide bespoke, individually tailored support packages to young people who have been identified as not engaging or coping with mainstream school.
The successful candidate will:
* Provide a mixture of one to one intervention and group learning to young people, including support in areas such as wellbeing, personal and emotional development and employability.
* Support young people to gain employability skills, life skills and accreditation; helping them in to work, apprenticeships, further education or vocational training.

Role
Midlothian Young Peoples Advice Service (MYPAS) promotes the health and wellbeing of young people across East Lothian and Midlothian and currently focuses on working in the areas of mental health and substance use. MYPAS is a community-based organisation with charitable status and based in Dalkeith.
Working as part of busy Core Team, the post holder will offer administrative and communications support to MYPAS management and service teams designed to contribute towards MYPAS aims and objectives, The key areas of focus for this role are:
* Administrative support
* Meeting and events support
* Production of reports and resources.
The successful candidate will have experience of providing administrative support in a service-based organisation, a good knowledge of general office procedures, excellent IT and literacy skills, and the ability to accurately manage databases and spreadsheets.
