Hearing Impaired Teaching Assistant Hounslow BSL LEVEL3 OR ABOVE required Looking to appoint an enthusiastic Hearing Impaired Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated Hearing Impaired Unit as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to support students in mainstream classes in a calm and professional manner. The position reports to the Head of the Centre of the Deaf. Key Responsibilities: Support identified students to effectively access the curriculum, tailored to their needs and understanding. Assist in implementing needs outlined in EHCPs. Provide general classroom support to the teacher, maintaining an orderly and inclusive environment. Promote the inclusion of all students. Supervise and provide personalized support for students, fostering independent learning and group collaboration. Assist students in developing basic skills in language, reading, writing, spelling, and mathematics. Liaise with teachers and external professionals to support special programs or Inclusion Support Plans. Monitor and report on student progress and contribute to the Annual Review of the Students' EHCP. Support the development of students' ICT skills and use of technology in learning activities. Prepare and adapt learning materials to suit students' understanding levels. Build positive relationships with parents/carers, providing feedback as guided by the teacher. Assist with classroom preparation, student physical needs, and encourage positive behaviour in line with the School’s Behaviour Policy. Support students during school visits, trips, and extracurricular activities. Participate in training opportunities and performance development.
