What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Analyze claims and authorization data to identify trends, calculate cost of healthcare, and identify medical cost savings opportunities for customers
2. Perform rigorous actuarial modeling and forecasting to support gain/share and ROI arrangements
3. Incorporate business expectations for the financial impacts of clinical integration, population management processes, provider contracts, and benefit structures into rates and financial projections
4. Manage organizational risk through forecasting of financial/statistical data in a manner which is actuarially sound
5. Ability to lead and work independently with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
6. Consistently deliver high-quality, error-free deliverables
7. Manage several projects at varying phases, and ensure projects meet strategic objectives and are managed to timelines
8. Interact with and coach teams of actuaries and non-actuaries, including support for team engagement and strategy
9. Present reports and analyses to clients and internal executives
Qualifications - Required:
1. Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a quantitative major (e.g. actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, economics, data science)
2. Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries
3. 5+ years of experience in a health actuarial setting
4. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
5. Demonstrated leadership abilities by managing and mentoring employees, while fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment
6. Ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders to solve problems, and ability to translate between business needs and analytical needs
7. Exceptionally strong analytical abilities, with track record of identifying insights from quantitative and qualitative data
8. Actuarial experience in value-based care across payers (Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage) is not essential, however strongly preferred.
9. Proficiency with query languages such as SQL or SAS is strongly preferred.
10. Experience in claims-based healthcare analytics to drive decision making is preferred.
Technical Requirements:
We require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.

The expected base salary/wage range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus component that would be dependent on pre-defined performance factors. As part of our total compensation package, Evolent is proud to offer comprehensive benefits (including health insurance benefits) to qualifying employees. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
