Our vision is to be a high-performing group of NHS hospitals, renowned for excellence and innovation, and providing safe and compassionate care to our patients in east London and beyond.
Job overview
Due to the current post holder undertaking a secondment opportunity elsewhere in the trust, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Art Psychotherapist to join Cancer Psychological Services on a fixed term contract.
The successful applicant will join a friendly, supportive and enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team that includes practitioner psychologists, art psychotherapists, psychotherapists and psychiatry. Supervision will come from an experienced Art Psychotherapist familiar with the service and local context.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the effective day-to-day running of the art therapy provision within Cancer Psychological Services for both inpatients and outpatients as well as managing a Band 7 Art Psychotherapist. The provision of consultation, supervision to the wider cancer workforce and training are well established aspects of the role. Therefore, there will be an expectation the post holder travels and works across multiple Barts Health hospital sites.
The successful applicant will need to have experience of working with multidisciplinary teams and within a psycho-oncology and/or palliative care setting. Experience of working with people in a multicultural setting is highly desirable.
Main duties of the job
The service is connected with the many other psychological professionals working at Barts Health, with opportunities for funded CPD and joining a specialist psychotherapeutic supervision group (e.g., ACT, CFT, Narrative, EMDR, Psychotherapists working in acute settings).
As a service, we are actively working to increase diversity and inclusion within our workforce, as well as to improve equity of access, experience and outcomes for all patients under the care of cancer services at Barts Health. We are eager to receive applications from people who represent the local East London population we serve.
