Deputy Energy Manager - University of Exeter
The Deputy Energy Manager is within the Sustainability Team. Based within the Finance, Infrastructure and Commercial Services Division, the Sustainability Team is a major contributor to delivering on the University’s Strategy 2030 commitment to ‘lead meaningful action against the climate emergency and ecological crisis.’ The team has responsibility for delivering on the University’s net zero and environmental net gain targets, and this job will assist in managing the work relating to reducing scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions.
The newly created role is responsible for planning and monitoring the University’s energy consumption and utility expenditure. You will assist the Head of Carbon and Energy in the development and delivery of programmes, projects, and policies that make a major contribution to achieving the University’s net zero target. As a member of the Carbon and Energy Team, the role holder will play a key role in identifying, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing strategies, policies, and projects to reduce the University’s carbon emissions and utility consumption.
The role will suit professionals who possess extensive, in-depth knowledge of all matters relating to carbon and utility management. You will be adept at analysing energy use data within complex organisations with an in-depth knowledge of utility tariff arrangements and procurement strategies. Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to use your own initiative is essential.
