Presales Technical Support
This role offers career progression and on-the-job training allowing you to become a Pre-Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect.
Permanent, full-time role offering up to £36,000.
During the initial 6 months, the role will be onsite every day for training and shadowing.
After this period, it will be hybrid 2-3 days with occasional travel to clients.
Position Overview
As part of our exciting expansion, we're seeking someone to be trained to become our Pre-Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect. This role is ideal for a recent university graduate or an IT Network professional with some networking and Linux experience looking to advance their career and specialize. We provide Hardware and Software Network solutions, and you will be responsible for supporting Sales teams on the technical side.
Our hands-on training program is designed to help you build the skills needed to evolve into a Pre-Sales/Solutions Architect role. Working closely with the pre-sales and solutions teams, you'll provide customer support, technical demonstrations, and product testing to a diverse clientele in high-stakes industries such as defence, critical national infrastructure, and finance.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the sales team in the technical side of the Hardware and SaaS products, including preparing tech specs, participating in technical scoping, and creating Proof of Concepts (we will teach you).
2. Provide remote and onsite consultancy to clients, delivering product demos or workshops on how solutions work and how to use them.
3. Work directly with sales teams to understand client needs, assist with technical requirements, and ensure seamless collaboration.
4. Participate in post-sales activities, offering ongoing support and technical workshops for clients during onboarding.
Key Requirements - What do you need to be successful?
1. LINUX and Network knowledge: Understanding of TCP/IP communications protocol and Ethernet networking in general.
2. Knowledge of LINUX: Proficiency in using command-line to carry out system configuration and basic networking tasks.
3. Client Interaction: Socially adept, with the ability to confidently engage with clients in various settings.
4. Teamwork and aptitude to learn: Able to work effectively both with internal and client teams - being open-minded and having a desire to learn.
5. Work Authorization: Valid UK work authorization and full UK driving license.
6. Willing to: Undertake UK Government Security Clearance.
Not essential, but nice to have skills:
1. Knowledge of scripting: with Bash scripting, Python, or JavaScript is advantageous.
2. Microsoft Ecosystem: Familiarity with the Windows OS and ecosystem.
Training Provided
As part of your role, you'll receive comprehensive training and guidance to build expertise in cyber security, including hands-on experience with our cutting-edge products and solutions. We'll support you in:
1. Hardware Technology: Understanding and implementing data diode solutions, essential for secure data transfers in defence and critical infrastructure sectors.
2. SaaS Cross Domain Solutions: Learning key product offerings, including software and hardware solutions, that cater to complex client environments.
3. Standards and Compliance: Familiarization with our clients' compliance standards, including JSP 604/440 and Cyber Essentials frameworks.
4. Career Progression: Opportunities for growth into Solutions Architect or Sales Engineering roles, plus a discretionary yearly bonus (up to £3,000).
