The purpose of the role is to work alongside our wider HR team, to provide a best in class service to our managers and colleagues, candidates and all other stakeholders involved in the various HR activities for which you will be responsible. This role will be aligned to specific business areas and as such, the role holder will have the opportunity to develop credible stakeholder relationships within the business areas they support. Working time in this role will be predominantly operational HR activity but there may be a need to pick up some project activity as determined by the Head of HR. Operational activity will include ER/case management activity (disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence management, flexible working etc), policy and process advice to line managers and regular tasks associated with cyclical people processes. Key Responsibilities Main Tasks and Deliverables: Provide clear policy advice and guidance to Managers, signposting to the correct policy. Support Managers in investigations and hearings as the dedicated HR contact, advising on policy and process, note taking, drafting required invite and outcome letters and providing all necessary case management support as appropriate depending on the level and complexity of case. Support Managers and employees from an employment law perspective with employee requests such as Flexible working, maternity/paternity/adoption procedures and sickness absence Take ownership for working with line managers to implement performance improvement plans (PIPs) and supports the manager to progress through the process in line with our performance management policy Deliver any restructure/TUPE activity with support from the Head of HR Operations Contribute to HR project plan to deliver planned activity, which may include conducting research into specified topic, pulling data to present in a report, compiling presentations, liaising and coordinating with other colleagues to collate information and other activity as directed by the Head of HR Operations Take ownership for cyclical activity and tasks required in order to ensure established, BAU HR activity runs effectively, e.g. engagement action plan reporting, PDR completion reporting, status reports on training completions Produce HRMI using our people system as required Support the delivery of operational recruitment activity Contribute to the delivery of ad hoc tasks as may be required from time to time in partnership with the wider HR team Skills and Experience: We pride ourselves on our customer first approach to partnering with the business, so you will gain a great insight into how we operate and how different roles contribute to our success. You will have ER Operational experience, including supporting the management team in disciplinary and grievance hearings and providing policy and process advice on all operational matters.
