We are currently seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join a freelance project on the Shetland Islands. This exciting opportunity involves working on a sewage treatment project, overseeing contracts, and managing various aspects of project delivery, HSQE, and commercial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the companys obligations and rights under the contract terms.
* Ensure accurate, legally compliant HSQE activity and reporting, resolving concerns as needed.
* Lead and manage project teams, ensuring staffing levels are adequate and morale remains high with effective communication.
* Support the Operations Director in identifying and managing risks and opportunities impacting the business plan.
* Work closely with the Commercial Manager to align commercial and operational matters.
* Notify and approve work outside the scope of the contract, ensuring financial impacts are understood.
* Resolve operational and technical issues at the project level.
* Support the Bid Team and work:winning functions as needed.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders to enhance trust and understanding.
* Ensure client strategies are delivered, KPIs are met, and continuous improvement is maintained.
* Lead the teams performance and development, ensuring individual and business objectives are achieved.
* Manage employee:related matters in coordination with People Services.
* Ensure robust contract and delivery programmes are produced, including design and procurement, with full team ownership.
* Provide accurate progress reports and highlight potential risks.
* Maintain strong working relationships with Operations and Commercial teams to ensure financial and programme controls are in place.
What You Will Need:
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager in Gas or Pipeline projects, ready to manage a portfolio of works from delivery, HSQE, and commercial perspectives.
* Strong awareness of commercial and programming matters, particularly with the NEC form of contract.
* A successful track record of delivering projects from start to finish.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Experience working with National Grid, Cadent, Northern Gas Networks, or Scotia Gas Networks is advantageous.
* Proven experience managing high:value projects or portfolios.
* Willingness to travel weekly and lodge where required.
* Full UK driving licence.
