School Crossing Patrols various locations throughout the City of Salford. Working Hours: 8 hours 40 minutes a week, term time only With the busy traffic across the city, it takes a special type of person to stop the traffic so pedestrians cross the road safely. School Crossing Patrols are highly valued by our schools and communities. About the Role The role includes assisting children and adults safely across the road at a designated location, when they are travelling to and from school. You will look out for potential hazards or dangers near the crossing area and help educate children on road safety issues. Following health and safety guidelines, you will report any defects at the crossing point to a Road Safety Officer. About you You will be a good communicator You will be punctual You will be able to work independently and use your own initiative You will be willing to work in all weather conditions You will be approachable but assertive when ensuring safety You will need some physical stamina as you will be standing outside for long periods of time Previous experience is not necessary, full training and uniform will be provided. This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently 49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months salary payments at a rate of 12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of 49.50.
