Maintenance Project Engineer – Maintenance & Improvement Projects
Salary: £42,000 + benefits (DAYS)
Location: Telford, Shropshire
Reporting to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager, this position is responsible for managing and supporting maintenance department projects. The role will involve both hands-on and contractor management responsibilities depending on the scale of the project, and will provide support to the maintenance facilities team as needed.
1. Support maintaining the team through CAPEX projects and process improvement.
2. Lead and support cross-functional teams to deliver right-first-time projects.
3. Lead and support maintenance projects to further improve plant KPIs (OEE, machine uptime).
4. Deliver departmental CAPEX projects and cost reduction projects.
5. Work alongside the Project Manager to develop and implement CAPEX projects.
6. Ensure adherence to H&S policy, procedures, and targets, and ensure contractors adhere to the same.
Experience
The successful applicant will be a competent Maintenance Engineer with experience in a volume manufacturing/automated environment. This position is ideal for a seasoned Maintenance Engineer looking to move off the tools and shift work for a better work-life balance.
1. Time-served apprentice in mechanical/electrical engineering.
2. Proven production machinery and plant installation experience coupled with a broad range of engineering principles.
3. Good understanding of Health & Safety & Safe Systems of Work: RAMS, Permits to Work, etc.
4. Experience in new capital equipment upgrades, improvement projects, or new machine installations.
5. Project management experience.
6. Subcontractor management & control experience.
