Job Description
What will you be doing?
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Finance team in London as Payroll Specialist. To assist the payroll manager in maintaining the company payroll's and pension schemes.
As Payroll Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
* Start to end payroll processing in NetSuite
* Taking ownership of the monthly payroll process through NetSuite, ensuring all necessary tasks have been performed
* Calculating SMP, SPP, SSP and ShPP or SAP entitlements where necessary
* Ensuring complex payroll queries are assigned in areas of expertise and responded to effectively in a timely manner
* Ensuring information received from HR Services/Rewards/external bodies is entered correctly onto the payroll system and all paperwork is properly authorised, in line with company policy
* Supporting the Payroll Manager in implementing all aspects of payroll processing
* Providing support and assistance to the Payroll Administrator ensuring payroll is HMRC compliant
* Creating new pay elements as required and ensuring setup is accurate
* Producing payroll reports and assisting in preparation of payroll journal for posting to finance
* Producing monthly payslips and annual P60 documents for all employees
* Liaising closely with Company pension scheme administrators and completing monthly uploads
* Creating any new reporting or searches within NetSuite for payroll and other departments
* Being a subject matter expert in payroll processing and NetSuite Payroll
* Assisting Management in other ad hoc projects & tasks within the department when required
* Assisting in the monthly payroll reconciliations ensuring all changes are correctly authorised and implemented
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should:
* Have relevant experience in a busy payroll/accounts' environment
* Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently
* Be IT literate and numerate with the ability to analyse and work with large volumes of data
* Have attention to detail
* Possess thorough knowledge of Word & Excel
* Meet the expectations of internal clients and suppliers through a sound understanding of their requirements, being responsive to their needs and exceeding their requirements
* Adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
* NetSuite Payroll experience is desirable but not essential
Professional Qualifications and Education
* Educated to A level with a minimum of grade B in GCSE Mathematics
* Relevant payroll or accounting qualification(s) desirable but not essential
