We'd love to hear from you About the role Our Senior HR Operations Manager will be responsible for the creation and strategic direction of the HR Operations Team, currently comprising of two HR Operations Team Leaders and a Resourcing Team Leader, with 10 people reporting into those functions. Reporting to Head of HR Delivery, the successful candidate will be a key contributor in the Generalist function, supporting the application of policy and practice, ensuring that we manage our governance, oversight and risk responsibilities effectively. You will provide a comprehensive HR service centre delivery, as a technical expert in your specialism. You will manage complex HR Projects and be the product owner for a wide number of key HR activities, including immigration management, pre-employment vetting and GDPR compliance. You will challenge the status quo and develop new and innovative solutions to HR practice within the risk appetite of the function. What you'll be doing Line management of the HR Operations and Resourcing Team Leaders, with full responsibility for the Operations function, to guide and shape its strategy. Support the team in managing the transactional HR activity for the HR function, including new starters, pre-employment screening, Workday administration, CV searching and sifting, screening and general query management and escalation. Oversight of Workday 'data in' ensuring high quality environment management to ensure the data teams can extract clear accurate data. This team are fundamental in supporting the business to maintain the data integrity though the Workday Platform. Management of Governance and Oversight related to the function specifically Right to Work, GDPR, PII, SMCR, IR35, Contract management and System Oversight. Ownership of technical HR processes and the digital infrastructure. Working across the business to provide guides, and other collateral to ensure that the business is using Workday correctly and to its full potential and are applying policy correctly via the Workday Help functionality. Ensuring the link between SMCR Office and HR to ensure that all necessary SMCR processes and procedures are running smoothly. Supporting on the completion of offer documentation and associated documents for Senior hires across the business and non-executive Director related documentation. Monitor and improve the HR data that is produced by the HR team to ensure that it meets stakeholder needs, with a focus on ensuring that the People team have ability to self-serve through Workday. Monitoring the risk events within the Operations team and where necessary, to support with training and lessons learnt sessions. Maintain a thorough understanding of the key deliverables of all teams and the metrics that are used to monitor performance. Analysis of associated risks and control factors to mitigate People risks across the function. Produce data to evidence performance and management of key metrics. Ensuring horizon scanning happens amongst necessary teams to ensure that we are within and where possible ahead of regulatory change. Embed a continuous improvement methodology ensuring all procedures are fit for purpose and achieve a positive user experience. Management of strategic HR projects, by collaborating with the wider People team, to ensure a joined-up approach to Human Resources within the business. About you Holds CIPD Level 7 or equivalent HR qualification (CIPD Level 5 may be considered alongside highly relevant experience). Experience managing HR Operations or administration function, with a strong desire to develop the teams personal and collective capability and progress their careers. Expert knowledge of HR Policy and procedure and how to apply this to the Operations Team. Strong stakeholder management skills across the business as well as the ability to communicate at all levels up to Director, including presenting to a senior audience. Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise workload and adhere to deadlines. Sound knowledge of Employment Law, HR Policy and how to manage and comply with these in the administrative context. Knowledge of Immigration and Visa management, Risk management and mitigation. Knowledge of Workday, SMCR and IR35 would be highly desirable.
