Are you passionate about using the power of sport to create lasting change in young people’s lives? We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic Programme Officer to lead the Premier League Kicks programme and drive other impactful youth engagement projects, including our Healthy Holidays initiative.
What is Premier League Kicks?
Premier League Kicks uses the power of football and sport to inspire young people to reach their potential. The programme creates opportunities for young people who are at risk of anti-social behaviour, youth violence and/or from high-need areas to regularly engage in football, sport, mentoring and personal development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Effectively engage and recruit young people in and around the Barnsley Community, working closely with schools, partners, and stakeholders.
2. Plan, coordinate, deliver, monitor, and evaluate the Premier League Kicks programme and other relevant funded programmes.
3. Be the main point of contact for stakeholders and ensure strong relationships are maintained within Premier League Kicks and wider programmes.
4. Promote and expand the reach of the Premier League Kicks programme and the wider activities of the Participation and Inclusion department.
5. Ensure Premier League Kicks and youth engagement associated projects meet and exceed all KPIs within contracts and service level agreements.
6. Keep accurate records and registers to enable full completion of all monitoring and evaluation requirements.
7. Plan and implement a programme of outreach education and volunteering workshops within hard-to-reach communities.
8. Manage workloads, working both independently and collaboratively with a range of colleagues to tight deadlines.
9. Line manage and act as a role model and mentor casual members of staff delivering on the programme.
10. Ensure all delivery is high quality, engaging, and provides the best experience for participants.
Qualifications:
1. Recognised Level 2 Sport specific certificate i.e., UEFA C (FA Level 2, Level 2).
2. First Aid Qualification (or willingness to update).
3. Safeguarding Certificate (or willingness to update).
Experience:
1. A minimum of 2 years' experience working with children and young people in various environments.
2. Experience of working with a range of partners, supervising and mentoring assistants and support staff.
3. Experience of promoting activities within the community and schools.
Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to evaluate sessions and provide quality feedback.
2. Excellent planning and organisational skills.
3. Ability to communicate effectively with participants, parents, and community members.
4. Must be happy to work evenings and weekends as well as during weekdays.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £23,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
