We are seeking an imaginative, skillful, and versatile designer who in addition to having a substantive hands-on experience of designing for exceptional customer experience for retail also has a good understanding of experience design for mobile games. This role requires you to work with other UX Leads and designers and lead conceptualization and realization of exceptional user experience for retail as well as new gamified experiences throughout the Amazon Shopping Journey. Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Key job responsibilities
1. Lead the UX Design team for design of various aspects of retail design and to understand game design and mechanics to create highly engaging user experiences across Amazon’s shopping journey.
2. Create conceptual wire-frames, user flows diagrams and low-fidelity prototypes to communicate design concepts for discussion and testing purposes.
3. Create and contribute to gaming design system, create detailed screens and engaging usable flows for games and gamified experiences on mobile apps.
4. Work closely with UI Designer, art directors, motion designers and engineers to deliver the best possible user experience while staying within technical and aesthetic constraints.
5. Work closely with User Research to ensure that the solutions are informed by data.
6. Take an active role in implementation and feature delivery.
7. Contribute to and proactively seek solutions to technical or design challenges.
8. Help implement design specifications to ship-able quality.
9. Be able to take the high strategic view as well as dive deep and execute great game UX independently.
10. Experience in special effect, animation and rendering.
11. Capable of adapting to a range of art styles and techniques.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience designing customer facing retail products
- 6+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and design
