As Head you will be responsible for the leadership of Surbiton High Boys’ Preparatory School, a hidden gem in the heart of Surbiton which is spread over two sites with a staff of 50 and a pupil body of 220.

You will be an experienced leader and have a strong focus on delivering excellence, realising aspiration and working collaboratively with the Executive Leadership Team and Local Governing Body to ensure the provision of an outstanding education that develops the individual.
The postholder will lead the strategic direction and operation of the School and will oversee the Deputy Heads responsible for the quality of learning and teaching and the personal development and well-being of both pupils and staff at the Boys’ Preparatory School.
The role involves taking an active lead in engaging with all stakeholders, promoting the School to prospective parents and pupils, and providing expert and tailored advice on the 11+ process. Additional responsibilities include quality assurance, budget management, ensuring policy compliance, classroom teaching, collaborating with United Learning schools, and taking on whole-school areas of responsibility where applicable.
The ideal candidate for the Head role at Surbiton High Boys’ Preparatory School would have a good first degree, a postgraduate teaching qualification, and evidence of continuous professional development. You should possess dynamic leadership and strong communication and organisational skills, with a focus on maintaining positive relationships. A passion for junior education and evidence of successful leadership of whole-school learning and teaching initiatives at Key Stage 1 and/or 2 is essential. Personal qualities we are seeking include a passion for excellence, a positive and reflective approach, commitment to the School's ethos and vision, and a dedication to professional development. You will have high expectations for pupil achievement and conduct and the ability to promote the School to parents and the local community.
