A Geotechnical and Earthworks Engineer is required to join the HS2 project for a long term engagement. Please note, this is a inside IR35 contract. Likely duration to start with is 18 months. 3 days per week onsite, 2 days from home. There are 2 openings for 2 sites. One based near Twyford, the other is Banbury area. The Geotechnical and Earthworks Engineer is accountable for: Responding to inquiries of the contractor for Geotechnical and Earthworks issues. Reviewing construction Products and Materials Approvals Form for Geotechnical and Earthworks (PMAFs) Review and assist in responding to Field Change Requests (FCR) Reviewing of fabrication details, shop drawings for Geotechnical and Earthworks Review Temporary works design (only where it impacts permanent works) Reporting of monitoring, testing etc results and preparing reports Producing As-built Drawings for Geotechnical and Earthworks assets Contributing to the Quarterly Reports as required by the Contract Scope The Geotechnical and Earthworks Engineer has the following technical skills: BSc/BEng with an emphasis in in geotechnical/earthworks engineering Minimum 5 years relevant experience on Design and Build projects dealing with Geotechnical and Earthworks issues and resolving them, preferably on rail projects or other linear projects of similar nature. Demonstrated proficiency in the English language, both speaking and writing Chartered status preferred.
