Job summary We are looking to expand our Practice Clinical Team, for which has created an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician. We have a patient population of around 12,200 patients and cover a demographically diverse population. The Pharmacy Technician has a key part of working through and helping to make improvements on our medicines management infrastructure at the Practice while supporting the day to day operating systems for prescribing safely, effectively and efficiently to our patients. We have up to full time hours available, and are happy to consider full or part times for the position. The role provides an opportunity to help us enhance our current medicines management infrastructure, work with a supportive team of colleagues on common objectives and service development as well as help us to improve the overall patient outcomes around their acute and or long term health needs. Ideally, we would be looking to recruit a Pharmacy Technician with experience of working within Primary Care, although this is not essential. Main duties of the job Our Pharmacy Technician would work alongside and under direction clinically from our Clinical Pharmacist and GP Partners. Operationally, you would be accountable to the Business Manager. The role will require engagement and to work with our current medicines management team and our Primary Care Network Pharmacy Team. The Pharmacy Technician workload would be required to support the development of a safe, cost effective, efficient practice repeat prescribing system through review, improving and implementing medicines management processes where they are required, and where there are benefits to both patients and the practice. In addition to this, the role would look to manage medication queries within remit, cost saving audits and workloads, supporting the Practice with its objectives and contractual requirements, alongside compliance of medicines management. You would work closely and be supported by our GP Partners, Salaried GPs, Clinical Pharmacist, Practice Nurses, Physician Associate, GPST1s alongside our Primary Care Network colleagues of Clinical Pharmacists, Social, Health & Wellbeing Practitioners, Occupational Therapist, First Contact Physio and Care Home Teams.
