Our customer is a North American Construction & Real Estate business, operating globally with an enviable portfolio of trophy assets they both own and deliver engineering and FM services for across the London region. Due to internal restructure, they seek a Mechanical-bias Engineering Services Manager to be based at one of their flagship multi-tenant towers in the City of London. This is a rare opportunity to work "in-house", helping to manage a directly employed team of both shift and day M&E engineers, delivering 5* services to plant, landlord & shared areas throughout the year.
Candidates must be fully qualified in mechanical engineering, ideally through a full apprenticeship, and with at least five years of engineering/technical management experience in a similar high-profile commercial environment such as a high-rise tower or banking/law firm HQ. Along with core mechanical qualifications, candidates should have a demonstrable history of serving as an AP/SAP in Mechanical Systems, Pressurised Systems, Ventilation, etc.
Relevant working experience should include:
1. Mechanical Fault-Finding
2. Pumps
3. Motors
4. BMS Operation
5. Air Handling & Fan Coil Systems
6. VRV/VRFs
7. Water Chillers
8. Diesel Generators
9. Sprinkler & Fire Alarm Systems
10. Water Treatment
11. Cooling Towers
12. Pressurisation Units
13. Booster Sets
14. L/M/HTHW Systems
Some of the day-to-day duties would include:
1. Ensure that all services are delivered in line with the key performance indicators as per contractual agreement.
2. Complete internal & client audits at the required levels from both adequacy & effectiveness perspectives.
3. Ensure the building is fully compliant from an organizational perspective, applicable to both statutory and legislative compliance.
4. Ensure compliance against the company policies & procedures for all HSEQ aspects.
5. Actively report any non-compliance issues.
6. Work with Senior Technical Services Manager to ensure all aspects of engineering maintenance are delivered in accordance with the framework.
7. Complete regular audits to ensure compliance with company processes.
8. Report any non-compliances identified.
9. Ensure all risks are reported both internally and externally when required.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile building, directly for the owner, and close to a major transport hub enabling ease of commute. With an attractive salary, great benefits including a bonus scheme, paid OT, and extensive training, this will suit a technically minded and dynamic engineering manager looking for the next step in their career. While "in-house", with the organization self-delivering engineering services, they prefer those with an M&E / FM Service Provider background, used to being among the engineers helping to fix issues, and a proactive nature is sought in the successful individual.
