Senior Production Planner Are you an experienced Planner, that has been working in within manufacturing / engineering? If so, we are seeking a Senior Production Planner on a permanent basis for company that supply globally specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke mechanical equipment. Location: Hitchin/Stevenage Competitive annual salary on offer (DOE) About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Planner to join our team and take on a strategic role within our operations. This key position involves leading material planning, ensuring timely release of job cards, and working closely on the master schedule plan. You will oversee the stores team and collaborate with the supply chain, buyer, and planning lead to ensure seamless production processes. This role offers the opportunity to develop leadership skills, making it ideal for someone looking to step into a management position. You'll be responsible for maintaining stock accuracy, conducting cycle counts, and ensuring everything is in place for smooth production flow. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain the master schedule plan for production. Lead material planning and ensure job cards and materials are released on time. Work closely with the supply chain and purchasing teams to ensure materials are available. Lead and manage a small stores team (2 people), including KPI tracking, training, and development. Perform cycle counting and stock takes, ensuring stock levels are accurate. Monitor and report on key production metrics, including on-time delivery and job progress. Ensure the order book is updated with accurate delivery estimates. Support new product introduction (NPI) processes knowledge in this area is a plus. Requirements: ERP system experience (Syspro preferred but not essential). Strong skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting. Experience in production planning, supply chain, or a related field. Interest in leadership and team development management experience is beneficial but not essential. Knowledge of KPIs, stock control, and material planning processes.
