We are delighted to offer an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher to join an oversubscribed special school in Upminster. This permanent, full-time position offers the chance to work within a welcoming and well-resourced environment that supports students aged 4 to 19 with complex learning disabilities, autism, and speech, language, and communication needs.
The school provides a calm, purposeful, and stimulating learning environment with supportive governors, pleasant surroundings, and specialist resources. As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in inspiring and engaging learners, developing functional life skills, and supporting students’ communication and behavioural needs.
This is a unique opportunity to apply innovative and individualised teaching strategies to maximise student motivation and achieve positive outcomes. Experience in SEN education is desirable but not essential, as professional development opportunities are available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEN.
* Develop and implement innovative teaching methods to maximise student engagement and motivation.
* Support students in developing functional life skills and communication strategies.
* Monitor and assess student progress using an analytical approach to ensure positive outcomes.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and well-being.
* Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student development.
* Contribute to school improvement initiatives and uphold the highest teaching standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience working with students with SEN, including autism and communication needs, is desirable but not essential.
* Strong leadership and teamwork skills within the classroom.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* A passion for supporting students with complex needs and a commitment to their development.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
