Job Details
We are looking for a Childcare Manager to manage and oversee a cluster of breakfast cafes and out of school clubs for school-aged children across Fife. Each Out of School Club is registered with the Care Inspectorate and is designed to support families to access employment or further education, while children can access quality play-based activities and experiences.
The Childcare Manager will be fully responsible for the day-to-day management of their cluster, including the direct management of a team of Childcare Practitioners and Senior Childcare Practitioners.
The Person
If you meet the essential criteria outlined below, we'd like to hear from you:
* You must hold a relevant professional qualification recognised by the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) for professional registration at SCQF Level 7 or above, such as an HNC in Childhood Practice or SVQ 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
* You must be eligible to register with the SSSC in the category of Manager of a Day Care of Children Service and hold or be willing to work towards an SCQF Level 9 qualification such as the PDA 9 in Childhood Practice or BA in Childhood Practice.
* You should have experience of working with children and young people aged 4 to 19 years, including the planning, preparation, and delivery of activities tailored to the individual needs of children.
* You should have knowledge of key local and national guidance, best practice, and legislation.
* You must have experience of managing or supervising people.
* You must have IT skills.
You are required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 3 months of taking up employment in this role and to complete the required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) over the first registration period.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required 3 months.
