Senior Commercial Bid Manager
At Gregory Distribution Ltd, due to continued growth, we have a vacancy for a Senior Commercial Bid Manager based at our Cullompton Depot. This position involves leading the Business Solutions team to find the best-in-class solutions for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Winning new business opportunities through bids and proposals, aligning with strategic objectives and business development plans.
* Developing and writing clear, concise, and persuasive bid proposals that comply with tender requirements and guidelines, including formatting, content structure, and submission deadlines.
* Proactively developing win themes, answer strategies, and engaging customer-focused content with relevant stakeholders.
* Reviewing, editing, and proofreading proposals to ensure they are error-free and of the highest quality.
* Maintaining and updating a library of bid responses, ensuring all information is current, relevant, and consistent with the house style.
* Developing and sharing best practices, improving content, messaging, and processes.
* Leading commercial and operational discussions, contributing strategic and operational insights to proposals.
* Identifying cross-selling opportunities and working with other areas of the group to realize them in line with strategic goals.
* Collaborating with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop compelling bids.
* Conducting research and supporting the business development team to source top solutions.
* Generating monthly reports, analyzing tender activity, and suggesting improvements.
* Collaborating with the Business Development team and wider business to offer advice and assistance.
* Managing budgets and monitoring spending to meet objectives.
Experience & Skills:
* Experience in bid management within the warehousing, transport, and logistics industry is essential.
* Membership of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) is advantageous.
* Proven experience developing and implementing winning bid strategies.
* Experience leading multiple concurrent bids and managing diverse stakeholders.
* Championing, developing, and presenting best-in-class bid and tender processes.
* Strong written and communication skills, organizational abilities, and process-mindedness.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Ability to liaise at all organizational levels.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
