Your new company I am currently working with a leading remediation contractor that specialises in ground remediation and enabling work projects on a national scale. The head office is based in the North West. However, they operate across the UK, providing essential land remediation and site preparation services to the construction and commercial sectors. Since being founded in the 2000s, they have swiftly established themselves as the preferred remediation contractor for many of the UK’s leading house builders and main contractors. Your new role With continued business growth, they are seeking an Engineer Surveyor who understands remediation and earthworks/drainage packages. In this role you will be responsible for all engineering aspects on site, specifically the setting out of the work and achieving accurate dimension control for projects. Your responsibilities will include: Site Surveying: Topographical, boundary, and construction site surveys using total stations, GNSS/GPS to capture site data. Drone experience would be beneficial but not essential initially. Volumetric Surveys: Conduct volumetric surveys to calculate earthworks, stockpiles, excavation, and fill volumes. Use specialised software to calculate material quantities, track project progress, and generate detailed reports on earthmoving activities for the site managerial & commercial teams. Machine Control Setup and Management: Set up and calibrate machine control systems for construction equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, and graders. Data Analysis and Modelling: Process and analyse survey data to create detailed 3D models, digital terrain models (DTMs), and cross-sections. Provide data for machine control systems to enable accurate excavation, grading, and other earth-moving tasks. Layout and Control: Establish and monitor control points, benchmarks, and reference lines on-site to ensure all construction activities align with project specifications. Volume Calculation and Reporting: Produce accurate volumetric reports detailing excavation, cut and fill volumes, and stockpile quantities. Monitoring and As-Built Surveys: Perform regular as-built surveys using data from machine control systems and volumetric surveys to ensure that construction meets specifications and tolerances. Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with project managerial team and machine operators to ensure that survey data and machine control systems are fully integrated into the construction process.
