Community Health Care Assistant / Phlebotomist
Are you an experienced Health Care Assistant or Phlebotomist looking for a new rewarding challenge Monday to Friday?
We are looking to hire an experienced Health Care Assistant who is ideally trained in Phlebotomy. Phlebotomy training can however be provided for the right candidate who is willing to learn and has a can-do attitude.

Our Health Care Assistant and Phlebotomy services are one of a number of planned innovative at-scale community services that support our member practices and the local health population of Greater Peterborough.
This would be ideal for a driver with use of their own vehicle, who is looking for a more structured Mon-Fri 9am-5pm role.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you will visit patients in their homes to provide essential primary care services. Your main duties will include:
* Collecting blood samples through venepuncture
* Carrying out blood pressure and pulse oximetry checks
* Conducting height, weight, and BMI assessments
* Completing annual diabetic reviews
* Accurately recording patient notes and results

Job responsibilities
As a Community Health Care Assistant / Phlebotomist, you will support various community services by visiting patients in their homes to deliver primary care services. Your responsibilities will include:

* Monitoring blood pressure and conducting pulse oximetry checks
* Measuring height, weight, and calculating BMI
* Completing annual diabetic reviews and checks
* Accurately recording patient notes and test results

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Certification in Phlebotomy (training can be provided for the right candidate)
Experience
* Experience as a Health Care Assistant, Carer, or Phlebotomist
* Experience in carrying out annual diabetic reviews and foot checks
Knowledge and skills
* Proficiency in IT, including basic software packages such as Microsoft Outlook and Word
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a diverse team
* A caring, empathetic, and patient-centred approach to healthcare
* Willingness and ability to undergo training and continuously develop skills
